Edgecomb lost its chance for high speed fiberoptic Internet when other peninsula towns failed to endorse Fidium Fiber’s generous offer last year. BUT, Fidium is still building out in Maine. They gather data on need around the state, and plan future projects partially based on that data.
Go to their website, and enter your address to express your interest. There you can sign up for expedited prep work. They will run a fiber line from the road to the outside of your home or business, following the path of current utilities. They will attach a small box to an exterior wall next to existing utilities, which enables future fiber internet connectivity inside. There’s no cost or obligation. But if Edgecomb residents swamp their site, indicating an interest, Fidium will take notice. We may still be able to move into 21st century connectivity!
The Town Hall Offices will be closed Tuesday, 21 November, and Thursday, 23 November, for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
The 2023 Tax Commitment Books, sorted by map lot and alphabetically, are now posted on the website.
